A Gallery of Oddities – light bulb collection box

A few weeks ago, we were presented with an opportunity to make a prototype storage product for light bulbs. There is a large collection (of about 20 thousand pieces) of these fragile objects in the possession of the German Museum of Technology in Berlin (Deutsches Technikmuseum). The biggest challenge was to meet the expectations of the curator of this collection regarding the size of the collective box. It also took quite some time to figure out how to best protect the bulbs against accidental breaking. In the end, the best solution was found to be one where each cell of the drawers was equipped with a special fitting nest.
