19th-century processional banners, a diploma project by Anna Bojko, student of the Academy of Fine Arts

Leírás

This box was designed and made under the guidance of Anna Bojko, a sixth-year student at the Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art, Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. The two double-sided processional banners, painted and silvered, date back to the second half of the 19th century. They originate from the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Samogitia and are now held in the collection of the Archdiocesan Museum in Lublin. As part of her master’s thesis, Ms Bojko carried out preventive conservation on one of the two banners. To ensure proper storage conditions and prevent the set from being separated, a shared protective container was designed and produced for both objects.
