Roll box with opened ends

This construction requires careful sliding in and out of rolled-up maps or posters, however, as the box is only opened at ends, it is less susceptible to accidental opening than the VIa construction, opened along the spine. Unlike the VIa construction, it can be stored both vertically and horizontally. 

The stored roll can be further protected if it is rolled around an archival tube or wrapped in paper.
